Free Budget Worksheets for TeensThese free budget worksheets are a great way to involve teens in learning how to budget and take control of their spending habits.
Instructions: Have your teens make a list for all their free sources of income on pieces of paper or budget log worksheets. Second, tell your teens to list all of their monthly expenses including a budget for miscellaneous spending like shopping, hair, nails, extracurricular activities, eating out, movies , etc on their worksheets. Now have your teens categorize their expenses by home or rent, auto, school related, food, extracurricular, and a miscellaneous budget category for emergency expenses like repairs, special events, etc. Now have the teens download a template for their budget worksheets or use a Budget Excel Software already available. These can be found at places like EBAY very inexpensively and are easy to use to help them design and personalize their own. Have the teens record and total all their gross income categories at the top of their free budget worksheets and then list all their expense categories below using the program functions to add/subtract these categories automatically when data is entered. Put your miscellaneous and extracurricular categories at the bottom to show amount left after essential expenses are payed first. At the bottom of the budget worksheets have the teens develop a category called Net income free or available where their final total after expenses are entered is displayed. If they meet there budget they can enter and print and if not they will have to reduce spending to allow a positive number. Tips: * Have the teens add free clip art and pictures off the internet to their categories if they have the software capability to do so. * Some of these program functions as well as picture capability can be found already built into some Budget Software Worksheets. |
