Sample Income and Expense Statement
Sample statement for income and expense management. This statement can be tailored to reflect any changes to income or add expense line items for ongoing tracking.
This budget statement lists income and expenses on a monthly basis. You can use it to forecast on an annual for those who like to do an annual budget or semi-annual to work six months in advance. If you can produce a reliable income or paycheck, you should be able to use this statement for annual income and expense tracking. If your income includes commission or self employment income, you may find that six months or even less might work better.
Try not to alter or make unnecessary changes to your budget because it doesn't match you current spending means. Try to stick to it and then see where your priorities lie and realize that change is inevitable anyway, but will be more manageable as good habits will have been set.
This statement is a model that reflects many possible types of income and expense items and is categorized by income and three categories of expenses including fixed expenses ( those that remain the same despite any changing activities), variable expenses ( those that change from one period to the next due to your actions), and discretionary expenses ( which cover items that aren't necessary maintaining normal activities but are important to you at that time for personal reasons).
